North East Line (NEL) MRT stations were hit by a blackout during the morning rush hour on Tuesday.
The train service was also disrupted for seven stops between Farrer Park and Hougang.
SBS Transit tweeted at 7.50am that the service was delayed due to a power fault.
Twitter users posted photos of commuters standing in darkness on the train platforms along the NEL.
