JOHOR BAHRU: The power outage in Johor Bahru, Tampoi and parts of Tebrau this afternoon has been fully restored at 7.40pm.
Johor Tenaga Nasional Berhad's (TNB) General Manager (customer service) Datuk Baderul Sham Saad said some 10,000 users affected by the outage have had their electricity supply restored.
He informed that several critical areas like the Sultanah Aminah Hospital were reportedly not affected by the incident.
"Power was 95% restored at 7.15pm and fully restored at 7.40pm," he said when contacted today.
Earlier, Baderul Sham said the outage was caused by a fault at the Johor Bahru City Center (JBCC) main TNB substation at 1.04pm.
The fault resulted in a massive blackout with reports of widespread massive traffic jams along major roads due to non-functioning traffic lights.
There were also reports of people being stuck in elevators in highrises across the city.
