    Vietnamese authorities say Typhoon Yagi has killed at least four people and injured 78 others after making landfall Saturday afternoon in the north of the country. Yagi, described by Vietnamese meteorological officials as “one of the most powerful typhoons in the region over the past decade,” made its way to the Southeast Asian country after it left three people dead and nearly a hundred others injured in the Chinese province of Hainan. The typhoon landed at Vietnam's coastal provinces of Quang Ninh and Haiphong with wind speeds of up to 149 kilometers per hour (92 miles per hour), state media reported.

Its executive director, Myriam Armstrong, said the bear was frightened and listless when it arrived. The bear cub was transported on September 1 to a facility specializing in bear rehabilitation – Bear With Us.“It looked like he’d been hit by a vehicle, which the people who took him back to Windsor surmised,” Bear With Us founder and president Mike McIntosh told CTV News on September 6.McIntosh said the bear was believed to be nine months old and had sustained severe head trauma along with serious body bruises, but no broken bones.“He’s come right around. I wouldn’t say he’s better yet,” McIntosh said. “He still walks like he’s pretty sore, but he’s eating and drinking like a little bear should. I would say he’s probably 80 per cent recovered now.”Footage filmed by Myriam Armstrong shows the bear getting some liquids and food in the back of the van and at their center. Yagi had already claimed the lives of at least 16 people in the Philippines, the first country it hit.On Saturday, Vietnam's state media also reported deaths, including a motorcyclist killed after a tree fell on him.A dozen people were reported to be missing at sea.Amongst the hardest hit locations was the coastal city of Haiphong.Strong winds smashed windows as 10-foot high waves hit the coast, according to a witness.Pictures and footage from local media showed trees being felled and roofing sheets flying away.:: Hanoi, VietnamIn the capital Hanoi, residents could be seen sheltering under a bridge.Nguyen Ha Thang said he's never seen a typhoon with such brutal wind while Ly Thi Nguyet said she was terrified, and unable to get home.Authorities in the capital have suspended public transport on buses and its two elevated metro lines.The meteorological agency has warned of risks of heavy flooding in the city center.Vietnam's government said it had evacuated nearly 50,000 people from coastal towns and deployed 450,000 military personnel.Schools have also been closed in 12 northern provinces, and flights grounded at four airports.
