PETALING JAYA: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) will open divisions and branches in Sarawak as soon as possible.

Party chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad said it was necessary because PPBM would be holding its general assembly next September.

“We will open PPBM divisions and branches in Sarawak as soon as possible. This is because we will be holding its general assembly in September next year,” he told a press conference after chairing the party’s leadership meeting at its headquarters, here, today.

On what was discussed in the meeting, Dr Mahathir said the party took heed of netizens’ comments and feedback on social media on political developments.

“PPBM takes note of the people’s feedback on social media. As much as possible, we respect their views,” he said.

“All of that is taken into account as it impacts the party and government. We took note of the problems faced by the government now due to the actions of the previous government.

“We found many problems and we believe that part of the Pakatan Harapan manifesto could bring many problems. If we implement, we would incur big losses.

“There is a need to reexamine the promises we made at that time, we believed that we would have lost (the 14th General Election).
