Prince Charles' home office is messy AF
Plenty of people have had to transition to working from home throughout the coronavirus pandemic - and that includes the royal family. While Prince William and Kate Middleton have been on non-stop Zoom calls in place of in-person visits to charities and organisations, Prince Charles has been putting in the hours at his home office in Scotland.
The future King is currently in lockdown with wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall in Birkhall, the couple's residence on the Queen's Balmoral estate. The couple isolated there while Charles overcame coronavirus back in March, and now he's back to full health he's been getting on with his work.
One such project was an interview with Classic FM presenter Alan Titchmarsh, where the pair discussed His Royal Highness’s love of classical music. Prince Charles, who has a number of musical patronages including the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, personally selected each classical track played throughout both episodes of the two-part recording.
But when Global (who owns Classic FM) shared a behind-the-scenes pic on Twitter of Prince Charles' set-up for the interview, there was only one thing that grabbed people's attention: how unbelievably messy the royal's desk was. I mean, same.

Prince Charles can be seen in the photo sitting at his desk, surrounded by recording equipment, papers, and, well... more papers. What is it they say, Charles? Tidy space, tidy mind? Ah well, never mind.
At least the behind-the-scenes glimpse shows one thing about the heir to the throne: he's actually kind of relatable. Because there'll be a lot of people right now who are struggling with their home working set-up spilling into their living space, and the result when it all gets too much is usually just mess. Maybe it's time to get Marie Kondo up in here (after lockdown, of course).
Among the mounds of paper spread across the royal's desk, there are also an array of photos adorning Charles' home office. Among them is a black-and-white one of Camilla, as well as a sweet one of Prince George from years ago, at Princess Charlotte's christening.
But although Prince Charles has now been exposed as a secret messy person, he could possibly spin this into something positive. According to various studies over the years, people with messier desks can often be more productive and more creative.
As a person who also finds it difficult to keep the working space around them clear, I am 100% on board with this theory and will be taking no further questions on the matter.
