** UPDATE ** Okay, so The Cambridges didn't run participate in Sport Relief this year (boo) but! This weekend, Prince Harry revealed that Prince William and Kate Middleton will run the London Marathon in 2013 (yay). During an interview with the BBC, the Duke's brother said, 'I've been trying to get a place for years! What do you have to do? What's fantastic is my brother and his wife will be doing it next year, I think.'

So the questions remains: what will the young royals wear for the sporty occasion? Will Sarah Burton create custom-made gear for the Duchess or will K-Middy hit the highstreet and splash the cash in JJB Sports? As Harry says, they're 'going to have to do it now.' Bring. It. On.

19th January 2012: Will Kate Middleton Run The London Mile For Sport Relief?

She’s perfected the red carpet outfits, but how will the Duchess of Cambridge cope with her next public performance? It’s said that Kate will run a mile through London as part of Sports Relief. Along with her husband Prince William – who has long been a keen supporter of the charity – the couple are in talks with the charity about jogging down The Mall as part of fundraising activity on 25 March 2012. 'We are in talks with the Prince's representatives and understand he is eager to support the event, as he has done previously. We're hopeful Kate will be able to do it too,' a source from the charity told The Daily Mirror.

Kate is a keen sportswoman. Before her wedding she apparently went running around their home in Anglesey to shape up and her sister Pippa is often seen doing competitive races. But if the running will be easy for Kate, surely this presents her with a sartorial challenge. What exercise gear is suitable for a young royal? Allow us to make a few suggestions…
