Prince Harry Has a Sweet Tribute to Princess Diana at His House
A friend of the prince also revealed that Harry is "kind, funny and pretty damn normal."
Despite it being over 25 years since Princess Diana has passed, Prince Harry still tries his best to incorporate his late mother into his daily life. According to a friend of the royal, Harry keeps Diana in the front of his mind with a sentimental decor item at his and Meghan Markle's home in Montecito, California.
In an essay for the Daily Mail, writer Bryrony Gordon revealed that Harry DIY'ed a tribute to his late mother. “I spent an afternoon at the house, the kids [Archie and Lilibet] running around happily as we drank tea,” she wrote. “Harry proudly showed me the DIY photo wall he’d recently created, featuring pictures of his mum.”
Gordon—who met Harry in 2016 and went on to launch a mental health campaign, Heads Together, with him—revealed that Harry is refreshingly normal for someone of his background, despite being part of one of the most important royal families in the world.
“When I tell [people] my honest opinion, that he is kind, funny and pretty damn normal, all things considered, I often see a flash of disappointment cloud their faces, followed quickly by words to the effect of ‘well, you would say that, you know him,’ as if knowing someone should disqualify you from having a trusted opinion about them,” she explained.
Gordon also noted that the never ending negative press around Harry isn't true to her personal experiences with him. She added, “I’ve heard a lot of fairly negative things said about him, character assassinations that bear no resemblance to the man I’ve come to count as a friend, the one who cares passionately about injured veterans, and who’s done more than most to change perceptions of mental health in [England].”
