Last week, the nation cooed over adorable photographs of a proud Princess Charlotte heading off for her first day at nursery.

And despite the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge having only just waved their youngest child off to school, it seems the two-year-old is already flourishing under the spotlight.

According to People magazine, the royal tot has picked up a second language from her Spanish nanny, Maria Turrion Borrallo, who hails from Palencia.

But Princess Charlotte isn't the only member of the Royal Family who is bilingual.

Last year, the Duchess of Cambridge confirmed reports that son Prince George has also dabbled in a second language while at a charity farm project in Gloucestershire.

According to reports, the royal proudly disclosed to a member of the public that the four-year-old can count to ten in Spanish.

The source also offered insight into Princess Charlotte's first week at nursery and described her as, "very sweet and very confident". They then went on to add that the two-year-old is "so polite, but also fun and energetic".

Prince George and Princess Charlotte will welcome a younger sibling in April this year.
