Aftermath of "collision" into a building in London
Footage shows the aftermath of a "collision" which saw a car smash backwards into a building beside a Lidl. The driver of a red Nissan Juke was left "in agony" after "being hit" and colliding into a "parked" silver Citroen C1. The force of the crash then saw the 4x4 spin around and smash into a disused building next to Lidl on Church Street in Croydon, south London, at approximately 3pm on September 13. Within "five to 10 minutes", an ambulance arrived and took the driver to hospital. Eyewitness Vanessa Silva, 32, a teacher, from Crawley, West Sussex, said: “Nobody was really doing anything to help - just getting their phones out.

An Alaska Airlines jet taking off in Nashville braked to a rapid stop on the runway to avoid a possible collision with a Southwest Airlines plane, and federal agencies are investigating the incident. The Federal Aviation Administration said the Alaska pilots aborted their takeoff because the Southwest plane was cleared to cross the end of the same runway. An Alaska Airlines spokesperson said the pilots recognized “a potential traffic conflict on the runway” and “immediately applied the brakes to prevent the incident from escalating.”

An Indianapolis man has been sentenced to 60 years in prison for a road rage highway shooting that killed a central Indiana man who was returning home after a long shift at work. A Marion County judge sentenced Dion Kimbrough, 24, on Friday after a jury convicted him in August of murder and unlawful possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon in Eli Hickerson's fatal shooting. Prosecutors said Hickerson, 30, of Carthage, was a passenger in a car on July 18, 2022, when Kimbrough shot him.
