Private condo rentals dip 1.2% in November

The rental volume also slipped 0.3% to 3,977 units this year.

The rentals of private condominiums fell 1.2% YoY and 0.3% MoM in November, the Singapore Real Exchange (SRX) revealed.

According to flash data, in individual sectors, Core Central Region (CCR), Rest of Central Region (RCR), and Outside Central Region (OCR) posted 0.2%, 1.9% and 1.6% YoY price declines, respectively.

Rents in November 2017 were 19.8% down compared to the peak in January 2013, and the price index is down 1.2% YTD.

Rental volume also dipped by 0.3% from 3,966 units rented last year to 3,977 units rented this year.

HDB rents decreased by 0.5% from October 2017 to November 2017. HDB 3 Rooms and HDB 5 Rooms decreased by 1.5% and 0.3% respectively, whilst HDB Executives increased by 0.2%. HDB 4 Rooms remained unchanged.

Rents in November 2017 were down by 2.9% YoY from November 2016.

An estimated 1,877 HDB flats were rented in November 2017. This represented a 13.8% increase from 1,649 units rented in October 2017.

Rental volume in November 2017 increased by 0.1% YoY from November 2016.
