Production-ready nanoFlowcell electric car coming to Geneva

Quant Quantino concept car at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show

The Quant Quantino could be the first EV capable of travelling over 600 miles between refilling stops.

The company behind it, nanoFlowcell AG is also behind a potentially revolutionary form of powering electric vehicles.

Instead of huge battery packs that need to be recharged, the Quantino uses two tanks of electrolyte liquid -- one positive, one negative -- that generate the current to power its motors as they flow.

The liquid evaporates as it develops the power, and, when the tanks are empty, the car can be refuelled with these two liquids in a very similar way to traditional cars being refuelled.

In 2015, the Quantino was unveiled in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show and this year's event is set to be the venue for what nanoFlowcell AG says will be a "near standard" specification production version of the car.
