What properties can you buy on a $1 million budget?

What can you get for a million dollars these days? Well, it depends on where you’re buying.

If you’re looking at properties in the suburbs, such as those in the north-east region, you can typically score a bigger abode, complete with spare bedrooms for the price tag. Incidentally, north-east properties have also become the most highly sought-after among foreign property investors.

But if you have your sights set on more expensive neighbourhoods such as those located in the prime districts, you may find yourself with a cosy one-bedder. Check out how far you can stretch your million-dollar budget here.

1) In the prime districts

In 2017, sales of new properties in Singapore’s prime districts or the Core Central Region (CCR) transacted at an average of $2,176 psf, while resale properties sold at an average of $1,893 psf. CCR includes Singapore’s more prestigious areas such as Bukit Timah, Holland Road, Novena, Orchard and River Valley.
