Protesters Flash Three-Fingered Salute at Royal Motorcade in Bangkok, Thailand

Thousands of pro-democracy protesters marched in Bangkok, Thailand, on October 14, to call for limitations on the powers of the monarchy and the resignation of Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha.

Footage shows protesters mobbing the royal motorcade and flashing a three-fingered salute, linked to the demonstrators’ Hunger Games motif.

According to local news reports, the protesters marched to the Nang Loeng intersection near Thailand’s Government House.

As of Thursday, October 15, the Thai government had reportedly issued an emergency declaration curbing gatherings of 5 or more and prohibiting “publication of news, other media, and electronic information that contains messages that could create fear or intentionally distort information, creating misunderstanding that will affect national security or peace and order.” Credit: @PgiftedP via Storyful
