PSG ready to devastate Man Utd and Man City, with two superstars lined up for deadly new attack with Mbappe
PSG have spied their perfect Lionel Messi replacement in Manchester, with a report claiming they plan to derail Man Utd and Man City’s plans to give Kylian Mbappe two all-star partners in attack.
A front three consisting of Messi, Mbappe and Neymar was the talk of the town when first formed. However, just two years on, the much-hyped front three have broken up and PSG’s wait for a first-ever Champions League rolls on.
Messi will join MLS side Inter Miami, while PSG retain hope of shifting problem player Neymar.
Mbappe is the one they’re hoping to build around and according to French outlet Le Parisien, Man Utd and Man City’s plans could be derailed to provide the Frenchman with new partners in attack.
PSG have already brought Real Madrid’s Marco Asensio on board via free agency. However, via the Daily Mail, it’s suggested the Spaniard will become a squad player if PSG have their way.
Firstly, it’s claimed Man City’s Bernardo Silva, 28, is the player PSG have earmarked as their successor to Lionel Messi.
Silva’s goals output does not come close to Messi’s, though PSG are hoping to piece together a harder-working side that does not rely on individual brilliance to achieve its aims.
Silva is both versatile and tireless and is often selected by Pep Guardiola in the front three for Man City’s toughest games. Few should be surprised if the Portuguese gets the nod on the flank in tonight’s Champions League final.
PSG reportedly want Silva to play in the front three in Paris, and the second player wanted to complete the forward line alongside Kylian Mbappe is Man Utd target, Victor Osimhen.
The Napoli striker, 24, has just presided over a simply sensational campaign in Italy.
Osimhen notched 31 goals and five assists in 39 matches for Napoli. His efforts when leading from the front helped Napoli storm to their first domestic title since 1990.
Osimhen and Harry Kane are widely believed to be the two strikers Man Utd are casting their eye over as Erik ten Hag goes in search of a starting centre-forward.
Osimhen is also a target for Chelsea, though the Times now suggest the Blues are turning their attention to Lautaro Martinez of Inter Milan.
On the subject of whether moves for Silva and Osimhen are possible, Le Parisien acknowledge plucking Silva out of the Etihad will be difficult.
Silva is under contract until 2025 and despite being heavily linked with a move away each and every summer, has remained in Manchester until now.
Silva has earned complete trust from Guardiola who it’s stated would not let his attacker go unless a ‘sizeable fee’ is bid.
Osimhen, meanwhile, is expected to cost north of £100m in the event he’s allowed to leave Naples.
Napoli president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, has previously declared there’s “no way” Osimhem leaves the club this summer.
However, every player has a price and public bluster is a common tactic to ensure a club can extract maximum value if they do cash in.
