Out of 39,762 Primary 6 students who sat for the Primary School Leaving Examination (PSLE) this year, 98.4 per cent have qualified for secondary school.

In announcing the PSLE results on Thursday (22 November), the Ministry of Education (MOE) said that 66.6 per cent of those who took the exam are eligible for the Express course, while 20.6 per cent and 11.2 per cent have qualified for the Normal (Academic) and Normal (Technical) courses, respectively.

Of the 631 students who did not qualify for secondary school, MOE said that those who had taken the PSLE for the first time may re-attempt it or apply to the Assumption Pathway School (APS) or NorthLight School (NLS). Those who had made more than one attempt at the PSLE will be preferentially offered a place in APS or NLS.

Posting results on 19 Dec

Eligible students will be able to submit their secondary school choices online via the Secondary One Internet System from 11am on Thursday till 3pm on 28 November. The option form can also be submitted at the respective student’s primary school.

The secondary school posting results will be released on 19 December and students will be required to report to their respective assigned schools at 8.30am the following day.

“Students have a wide variety of quality secondary schools to choose from. When choosing secondary schools, students – in discussion with their parents – should consider schools with cultures, programmes and environments best suited to their learning needs and interests,” said the MOE.
