Punjab, Chhattisgarh CMs announce ex gratia for kin of farmers killed in Lakhimpur Kheri incident

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh), Oct 06 (ANI): Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on October 06 announced ex-gratia of Rs 50 lakhs separately to the kin of four farmers who died in the Lakhimpur Kheri incident on October 03. Speaking to the mediapersons the Punjab Chief Minister said, “We stand with the families of the farmers who have been murdered. On the behalf of Punjab government, I announce Rs 50 lakhs each to the families of the deceased including the journalist.” Meanwhile, the Chhattisgarh Chief Minister said, “On behalf of Chhattisgarh Government, I announce Rs 50 lakhs each for the families of the farmers and the journalist who died in the violence (in Lakhimpur Kheri).”
