Putrajaya International Book Fair is back to woo bibliophiles

PUTRAJAYA: Book lovers can head over to the Putrajaya International Convention Centre for the 4th Putrajaya International Book Fair 2017 (PIBF 17).

The fair was launched this afternoon by MPH Group Malaysia chairman Datuk Seri Ismail Yusof.

Ismail stated that apart from books, there are also offers on stationeries, educational toys, lifestyle gifts as well as multimedia and IT gadgets.

“We are expecting more than 300,000 visitors this year as that has been our track record since the last few installments,” he said.

He added that this year’s fair aims to provide an educational, enriching and entertaining experience for book lovers all around.

“Set in a fictional magical town of books called ‘Bookerville’, PIBF 17 is inviting visitors to shop in a true carnival experience.

“Spanning over 40,000 sq ft of exhibition space, the fair offers discounts up to 70 per cent on a wide selection of local and international titles, which includes new arrivals and bestsellers,” he said, adding that there are also ‘Buy 1 Free 1’, ‘Daily Specials’, and ‘Value Buy’ deals from as low as RM8.

At the launching ceremony, PIBF 17 also hosted MPH Best of 2016 Book Award Ceremony to honour both international and locally published books released in 2016.

The awards covered eight categories, namely Best Paperback Fiction, Best Young Adult Fiction, Best Young Readers, Best Non-Fiction, Best Business, Best Malay Fiction, Best Malay Non-Fiction and Best Chinese.

The book fair is happening now till April 2.
