QC cops raise P31k for model-TV talent's burial

After solving the killing of model-TV talent Julie Ann Rodelas, Quezon City police are assisting her family in another way—by helping raise funds for her burial.

The Quezon City Police District extended P31,740 in burial assistance to Rodelas' family, radio dzBB’s Divine Caraecle reported Monday night.

Of the amount, P20,000 came from QCPD head Chief Superintendent Mario dela Vega's personal funds while the other P11,740 was collected from QCPD personnel.

Julie Ann was shot dead Nov. 6 in Quezon City. Police investigators arrested and charged

her fellow model Althea Altamirano and her boyfriend Fernando Quiambao Jr. for the crime and are tracking down two more suspects.

Her brother Alvin had said in an interview on dzBB that they are trying to raise funds for the model's burial.

Alvin also said they are targeting the Golden Haven Memorial Park in Las Piñas City on Saturday, but only if they have enough funds for it.

“May kakulangan kaming dapat punan, pampinansyal ... Ang target namin, Golden Haven sa Las Piñas,” he said.

The Golden Haven Memorial Park is the same cemetery where slain University of Santo Tomas alumna Cyrish Magalang was buried

earlier this month.

Magalang was also a victim of a brutal crime—her body was found in Bacoor in Cavite with 49 stab wounds. Cavite police had arrested two brothers

, only one of whom had admitted to killing Magalang. –KG, GMA News
