Queen Rania of Jordan Is Teaming Up with Prince William: ‘I Am Humbled and Honored’

Queen Rania of Jordan is teaming up with Prince William to support a cause that she holds close to her heart.

The 51-year-old will participate in the Duke of Cambridge’s Earthshot Prize, which is a prestigious environmental award program. Queen Rania will serve as a member of the global prize council, where she’ll help decide the winners.

During an exclusive interview with Hello! magazine, the monarch revealed that she is “humbled” and “honored” to not only partner with Prince William, but to also spread awareness about climate change.

“The Earthshot Prize aims to repair our planet by harnessing one of our most powerful renewable resources: human ingenuity,” she said. “There is no limit to our potential, and every new idea takes us one step closer to preventing environmental disaster and reversing the damage we’ve already done.”

Queen Rania went on to explain why she’s so passionate about the environment, admitting that her own country “is one of the four driest nations in the world.”

She continued, “Prince William’s visionary Earthshot Prize, which I am humbled and honored to be part of, is a launching pad for groundbreaking green ideas. It will invest in the activists and innovators seeking to restore nature, clean our air, revive our oceans, reduce waste and repair our climate. It will connect environmental leaders with business leaders, providing the capital and platform they need to maximize their impact and bring solutions to scale.”

Guess Queen Rania and Prince William have more in common than we thought.
