S R Nathan's contributions to Singapore's scouting movement
Goh Yee Heng, an assistant area commissioner in the Singapore Scout Association, speaks of former president S R Nathan's contributions to the movement.
He said that Nathan, who was Chief Scout of the movement here, sometimes used his own money to sponsor their activities.
On Thursday (25 August), thousands of people paid their respects to Nathan as his body lay in state at the Parliament House. He will receive a state funeral on Friday (26 August) at the University Cultural Centre at the National University of Singapore.
