"Rambo" returns with a James Bond-style reboot

"Rambo" returns with a James Bond-style reboot

31 Oct – Earlier this year, "Rambo" star Sylvester Stallone revealed that "he has no intention of reprising his role as the iconic military war hero [Rambo]".

Now, ten months later, after Stallone himself chose to let go of his initial idea to make "Rambo V", Nu Image/Millennium Films is planning a brand new "Rambo" movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the new movie is called "Rambo: New Blood" and instead of a sequel, it would be a reboot.

True to its title, the reboot would not see Stallone reprising his role for the fifth time as the company is looking to scout a younger actor to take over the iconic Rambo character.

Their plan is to turn the younger version of Rambo into someone more akin to James Bond.

No plot details, cast or director are attached at the moment since the project is still in its early stages.

The last time viewers get to see a "Rambo" movie was the 2008's self-titled movie. It was also the final "Rambo" movie that starred Sylvester Stallone in the title role.

Although the fourth movie was made twenty years after the much-maligned "Rambo III" in 1988, "Rambo" still managed to prove its staying power as it successfully grossed USD113.2 million on a modest USD50 million budget at the worldwide box office.
