The newest 2020 Jeep Gladiator is brawny–that’s a given. Add in that exceptionally strong towing power of 600 Nm torque PLUS a towing capacity of 7,650 pounds, then you’ve got a super winner posing as a mega bodybuilder here.
And please–don’t tell us it looks like a Jeep Wrangler that extended its rear to look like a pickup. It’s passé. A Wrangler is not a Gladiator–period. The first one wrangles; the other one battles like Russel Crowe in a belted skirt (and still looks good while doing it).
Barring semantics aside, allow us to give another word that comes to mind, here: T.O.U.G.H. The Jeep Gladiator now comes with an all-new high-strength steel frame, heavy-duty axles, new coil rear suspension and the largest brakes in its class. So this car can tread through almost all punishing off-road conditions like a cool mountain goat.
Moreover, its pickup bed is something many adventurers would like. Its 5-foot steel cargo is suited to carry your dirt bikes, ATVs and/or furniture without problems. It also has a three-position tailgate, LED cargo lighting, external power source and integrated tie-downs to boot.
So, how much can it hold? The Jeep Gladiator can carry up to 1,700 lbs of payload. That’s enough to carry seven Randy Coutures, 8 Michael Jordans, 9 Rafael Nadals or 12 Manny Pacquiaos at the back.
Imagine that–we can actually fit in a PacMan football or basketball team while swapping beer and peanuts all day long.
This five-passenger mid-sized pickup truck comes in four variants in the U.S.: Rubicon, Overland, Sport, and Sport S. It also comes with 30-inches of water fording, a fold-down windshield, and a choice of soft-top and hardtop versions. Its power-locking tailgate also has three-stop positions.
So far, Jeep hasn’t provided any details if this would also be for the Gladiator that would arrive in the Philippines. However, what we do know is that it comes in gasoline or diesel V6 engine options, with a choice of either manual or automatic transmission. It also uses a standard Command-Trac 4WD system.
So are you ready to do battle with the all-new 2020 Jeep Gladiator? We hope so. And while we’re at it, you can also bring in your white pleated skirt and Roman sword just for fun.
