After Queen Elizabeth's passing, royal insiders revealed that the late monarch absolutely hated smartphones, but also shared that she had one at her disposal. However, royals using mobile phones isn't a tradition King Charles is interested in continuing. According to Hello!, the king of England doesn't have a phone because he has an army of staffers around him ready to get him connected to whoever he needs whenever he needs.

Commentator Jonathan Sacerdoti told The Mirror that Elizabeth used "a Samsung model outfitted with anti-hacker encryption by MI6."

Charles isn't outfitted with the same kind of device, apparently, though he doesn't seem to be bothered by the lack of connectivity. Marie Claire adds that Charles's unplugged M.O. means that he won't have to follow a major royal rule: Staffers at royal residences are required to turn their mobile phones off, "unless they are in a desk job that requires them to use one."

Queen Elizabeth also was known for her love of the traditional landline, though it has been reported that she'd only answer the phone when two people called: her daughter, Princess Anne, and racing manager John Warren.

If Charles ever needs to get in touch with someone, his wife, Queen Camilla, is armed with an old-school Nokia phone. Her son, Tom, shared that her less-than-current tech doesn't give her access to WhatsApp, but is enough for her to make calls and presumably get in a game of Snake when she's bored.

"I think it's for security," he shared.
