Real Madrid have announced the signing of Flamengo midfielder Reinier Jesus on a six-year contract.

Los Blancos have been tracking the talented Brazilian youth international for some time and confirmed the deal on Monday, the day after the player's 18th birthday.

"Real Madrid C. F. and Clube de Regatas do Flamengo have reached an agreement over the transfer of Reinier, who joins the club on a deal that runs until June 2026," Madrid said in a statement.

"The player will join up with the Real Madrid Castilla squad at the conclusion of his involvement in the Under-23 Pre-Olympic Tournament with Brazil."

Reinier Jesus broke into Flamengo's first team at the age of 17 and is one of Brazil's standout young players.

Madrid have not revealed how much they paid for the teenager, but are believed to have signed the player for a cut-price €30 million, even though his release clause was set at €35m.

The midfielder was part of the Flamengo side which won the Copa Libertadores last year and coach Jorge Jesus has criticised his sale.

"You can't sell Reinier for 30 million euros. Flamengo still don't know how to value their players," the Portuguese told CMTV.
