Rescued sea turtles debut at S.E.A. Aquarium

Two rescued sea turtles will make their official debut at Singapore's S.E.A. Aquarium in Resorts World after more than a year of rehabilitation. A green sea turtle and a hawksbill turtle will join the rest of the marine life collection at the aquarium on 23 May, which coincidentally, is observed as World Turtle Day. Both are threatened species which can be found in the waters off Singapore and in Southeast Asia. the turtles were handed over by the Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority of Singapore (AVA) and were cared for by the aquarium’s animal health team until they could be introduced to other compatible marine species. In the wild, sea turtles face multiple threats from humans including injuries from boat propellers, getting caught in fishing nets, plastic pollution and poaching.
