Resident Singaporean Xiong Jing Nan: ‘I Am A Warrior Who Never Gives Up’

In her much-awaited return to action, ONE Strawweight World Champion “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan will attempt to defeat #1-ranked contender Tiffany “No Chill” Teo for the second time in her career.

The rematch goes down this Friday, 30 October, at ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

Although two years have elapsed since the first encounter, Xiong promises she will enter the Circle with the same mindset.

“I will always do my best when I am in the cage. This is my stage. I’m ready,” she said.

“A victory will prove that I’m always ready. Things change, but there is only one ‘Panda.’”

The first battle between Xiong and Teo took place at ONE: KINGS OF COURAGE in Indonesia, where the Chinese star earned the inaugural strawweight belt in the fourth round via TKO.

But this time, “No Chill” will be fighting in a more familiar environment.

“She will be competing in her hometown, and there will be many people there to support her, so I think my energy from the audience might get affected,” Xiong said.

“She always performs very well, but I think she will be on another level this time since she will be competing in her hometown.”

However, “The Panda” also has a lot of support in Singapore. She does, after all, train at the famed Evolve MMA. And when she enters the Circle on Friday, her team will be right there behind her.

“It’s been a year since I moved to Singapore, and I have improved,” Xiong said.

“I am happy that I came to Evolve. I have met many World Champions from different countries. From them, I can learn what I lack.”

With that being said, Xiong has not lacked much in her strawweight bouts to date. And in the rematch with Teo, she’s ready to show the world why she’s ruled the division ever since earning the gold.

“I want to let my fans see that ‘The Panda’ is always ready for a fight,” Xiong said, “no matter what the situation is.“I am a warrior who never gives up.”

Watch ONE: INSIDE THE MATRIX on Friday, 30 October, on meWATCH or the ONE Super App at 8:30 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (SGT). Also, Channel 5 will cut into the live broadcast at 10 p.m. SGT.
