SINGAPORE — Residents who are staying at Block 506 Hougang Avenue 8 have to undergo mandatory COVID-19 tests after "a few" infected cases were confirmed to be staying in the block, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said on Thursday (20 May).

MOH did not specify the number of residents at the block who are currently infected with COVID-19.

“For the convenience of the residents, the testing operations will be conducted at the void deck at 506 Hougang Avenue 8 on 21 May and 22 May 2021. We have distributed leaflets to affected residents, and will also send them an SMS notification,” MOH said.

Residents of the block are advised to monitor their health closely and consult a doctor immediately if they feel unwell, MOH added.

MOH confirmed 41 new COVID-19 cases in Singapore on Thursday, taking the country's total case count to 61,730. Of them, 27 are local transmissions in the community, of whom 21 are linked to previous cases and six are unlinked.
