KOTA MARUDU: Barisan Nasional (BN) stronghold, Sabah must be maintained as it is a responsibilty entrusted to all party members.
Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman said all party members must ensure BN and Umno stayed strong and stable and remained a party that champions the interests and welfare of the people.
“We must be united and have mutual respect. We must work hard to remain stable and strong. What is important is that, we must always go down to the ground to meet the people to find out about the problems they face.
“We must constantly work... talk less, but put in a lot of work even though we do not know when the elections will be held,” he said.
Musa, who is also state UMNO liaison committee chairman said this at the simultaneous opening of the UMNO branches, Wanita, Youth and Puteri movements meetings in the Kota Marudu Division here today.
The event was officiated by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi. Also present were Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili who is also Kota Marudu member of Parliament and Kota Marudu Umno Division chief Datuk Wetrom Bahanda.
Musa said the BN government has a good track record in implementing various development projects and making significant progress, even though much more needed to be done for the well-being of the people.
He said good relations between the state and the federal government must continue to be strengthened so that all the provisions applied for can be considered by the leadership.
“What is important, is that whatever we (UMNO) promised earlier we will fulfill,” he said. --Bernama
