·1-min read

After the quarterfinals of the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix at ONE: EMPOWER on 3 September, ONE Championship let fans vote on who they want to see facing each other in the semifinals.

The outcome was revealed last Friday, 24 September, during ONE: REVOLUTION – and here are the results for Ritu “The Indian Tigress” Phogat and the three other semifinalists.

“The Indian Tigress” will face Japanese judo specialist Itsuki “Android 18” Hirata in the first semifinal matchup, which will no doubt be a game of grappling amongst two queens.

Phogat defeated tournament favorite Meng Bo in the quarterfinals after almost being submitted and knocked out in the first round. Hirata, on the other hand, beat Alyse “Lil’ Savage” Anderson.

On the same night, Stamp Fairtex beat old foe Aloyna Rassohyna, and “Arale Chan” Seo See Ham defeated Denice “Lycan Queen” Zamboanga. Now Stamp and Ham will battle each other in the other semifinal matchup, which is guaranteed to be a showdown between two seasoned strikers.

The next stage of the ONE Women’s Atomweight World Grand Prix will take place at ONE: NEXTGEN on 29 October. The winner of the tournament will get their shot at ONE Atomweight World Champion “Unstoppable” Angela Lee in early 2022.

In the meantime, download the ONE Super App to catch all the action at ONE: FIRST STRIKE on Friday, 15 October, live and for free.
