Revealed: the UK's best takeaway
Thai Metro in London has been named Britain's most loved takeaway, according to online food ordering service, Hungry House.
The family-run, Fitzrovia restaurant came top in Hungry House's annual takeaway awards, based on high ratings, positive reviews and customer return rates at over 12,000 restaurants.
Thai Metro's Head Chef Ekkachai Somboonsarn, who mastered his take on Thai cuisine at festivals before founding the restaurant in 2000, described the win as "an unbelievable honour".
"We pride ourselves on serving up delicious Thai cuisine at good value, all made with high quality ingredients," he said.
Thai Metro's menu features a range of traditional Thai dishes, including fish cakes, tom yum soups, red, green and yellow curries as well as pineapple fried rice (served in half a pineapple), drunken noodles, tamarind duck and Weeping Tiger: beef rib eye flamed with rice wine, served with a spicy lime and chilli soy sauce.
