Rihanna Hosts NYFW Party, Dons Blue Lipstick

Not content with puckering up for Insta pics with a bit of red lipstick on, Rihanna’s opted for a slightly more unusual shade for her New York Fashion Week party.
Looking like she’d stepped out of the 90s in a sleeveless and plunging white crushed velvet dress from Ellergy, the singer welcomed a whole host of famous guests at the New York EDITION Hotel on Thursday night.

The star appeared to ditch her shoes for the occasion, piled her hair on top of her head and added a touch of glamour with a glistening necklace and a black leather tied choker. So actually, the blue lipstick kinda worked.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West also attended the event, hinting that they’re in NYC to put in an appearance at lots of the season’s shows. Kim revealed on Instagram that she was dressed head to toe in Givenchy and Yeezy (her hubby’s fashion line), and showed only a hint of leg in over-the-knee boots - that kept falling down.
The outfit’s empire waist line kept her bump neatly covered and she left her hair hanging around her shoulders in loose waves.

Alexa Chung was also at the event, stopping by after the opening of Refinery 29’s ‘29 Rooms’, and gave Rihanna a run for her money in another velvet dress. The British personality stepped out in the black midi dress, complete with high necklace and sheer decorative panel on the chest.
But unlike RiRi, Alexa opted for a coat of red lippy – not blue.

Models Coco Rocha, Lily Donaldson and Joan Smalls were also in attendance, as were Gigi Hadid and boyfriend Joe Jonas.
Gigi looked gorgeous in a red satin dress with sheer paneling from Tommy Hilfiger’s AW15 collection. The 20-year-old model kept her hair off her face in a slicked back updo and complete her look with red lipstick and natural eye make-up.
