Jaipur (Rajasthan) September 9 (ANI): Rural and main district roads, covering 1656 kilometers in 20 districts of Rajasthan will be upgraded to state highways. Announced Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. The proposal has been approved by the Public Works Department. In the State Budget 2021-22, CM Gehlot had announced plans to upgrade rural roads to highways connecting remote areas across the state. After detailed analysis the proposal was approved.As per the approved proposal, two roads of length 181 km in Barmer district, two roads of length 199 km passing through Sawai Madhopur and Karauli, 158 km long road from Tonk via Sawai Madhopur to Karauli district, 172 Kilometer long road from Nagaur to Jaipur via Ajmer district and 137 km long road passing through Dholpur and Karauli will be declared as state highways.This decision will ensure smooth movement of the rural population across the state.
