Roads in the Marina Centre area will be closed for the 2017 Formula 1 Singapore Airlines Singapore Grand Prix for six days, beginning on Wednesday (13 Sept).

The road closures begin at 12.01am on Wednesday and all roads will be fully accessible by 5.30am on 19 Sept. On four of the six days of the closures, some road corridors will be open during peak hours as indicated on maps provided by the Land Transport Authority (see below).

The Land Transport Authority announced the traffic arrangements last month.

Members of the public going to the Marina Centre area are encouraged to use public transport during the road closure period.

For those who wish to drive, they can enter the area via a single lane along Raffles Boulevard via Nicoll Highway (except for buses and vehicles with W,X,Y plates) during the following periods:

• Wednesday to Friday (13 – 15 September), from 10am to 5pm and from 10pm to 6am
• Saturday and Sunday (16 – 17 September), from midnight to 1pm
• Monday (18 September), from midnight to 6am, 10am to 5pm and from 10pm to 6am

Taxis will be able to use the single-lane access at all times, except during the hours when the race is ongoing from 15-17 September.

In addition to the single lane road, motorists can also enter Marina Centre area via Temasek Boulevard from Rochor Road (after exiting ECP) throughout the day.

During the race days, operating hours of MRT train services will be extended to cope with higher demand. Operating hours for selected feeder bus services will also be extended to match the last train services.

MRT services will be available at City Hall MRT station till 12.30am for all three race days. Free shuttle buses are also available between Lavender MRT Station and Gate 1 of the race venue.

Electronic Road Pricing gantries close to the race circuit will not be in operation at various times from Wednesday to Saturday because they may interfere with video transmission equipment used during the race.
