PUTRAJAYA: The Registrar of Societies (RoS) is still reviewing the registration application of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).
In revealing this, RoS told NSTP it only just received the registration application on the new political party's coalition and has yet to approve it.
Yesterday, it was reported that Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg said the registration of the GPS coalition of political parties has been approved.
Without elaborating further, Abang Johari who is also the president of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) added that they were only waiting for RoS to issue an official letter.
GPS comprises of PBB, Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) and the Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).
They announced their departure from the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition after the 14th general election (GE14) in May.
GPS who has not joined Pakatan Harapan (PH), however stated they are ready to work with the Federal Government in the interest of national and state rights based on the Federal Constitution and the Malaysia Federation. © New Straits Times Press (M) Bhd
