Rosalynn Carter Has Entered Hospice Care, Grandson Says
Former First Lady Rosalynn Carter has entered hospice care, according to her grandson.
“She and President Carter are spending time with each other and their family,” Jason Carter said in a statement. “The Carter family continues to ask for privacy and remains grateful for the outpouring of love and support.”

The Carter Center announced in May that the former first lady has dementia. Rosalynn Carter, 96, has been a longtime mental health advocate, including during her tenure in the White House from 1977 to 1981. She is the founder of the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregivers.
Former President Jimmy Carter, 99, entered hospice care at home in February.
The Carters made a surprise public appearance in September, when they were driven in an SUV during the Plains Peanut Festival.
The Carters celebrated their 77th wedding anniversary in July. They are the longest-married presidential couple.
