SERDANG: Prime Minister’s wife and Permata programme patron Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor reiterated her initiative on developing the Permata programme solely for the future of the Malaysian children.
She said her effort to constantly promote and develop the programme has had various quarters throwing accusation in her direction, claiming that she is trying to overshadow and compete with Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
“We have undertaken many initiatives and efforts to ensure the success of the Permata programme and I have done it wholeheartedly for the welfare of the future generation,” she said at the at the Malaysian Chinese Women Entrepreneurs Association (MCWEA) Gala Dinner held at Wisma Hua Zhong here yesterday.
Rosmah admitted that the accusations have prompted her to stay low-profile to guard the Prime Minister’s image.
At the gala dinner, Rosmah was also awarded with the ‘National Heroine-Child Care and Protection Award’ by MCWEA for her immense contributions to the Permata early childhood education.
She said the award has given her the extra drive to continue her efforts in promoting the Permata programme.
Also present at the event were advisor to the Prime Minister’s Department of National Unity and Integration, MCA wanita chief and founder of MCWEA, Datuk Heng Seai Kie and MCWEA president, Datin Seri Jessie Wong Siaw Puie.
Held to celebrate the installation of its newly elected 2017 council members and International Women’s Day, the gala dinner hopes to encourage and increase the participation of women in the progress and transformation of Malaysia and to strengthen the cooperation between MCWEA members and other organisations.
