JOHOR BARU, Feb 9 — A runaway horse shocked motorists and caused a traffic congestion along the main road of Bandar Baru Permas Jaya here yesterday afternoon when it was spotted cantering against city-bound traffic.

The horse was spotted along the main Johor Baru-East Coast inner road towards the Johor Baru-East Coast Highway at around 4.30pm yesterday.

The scene was captured in a 21-second video uploaded to Facebook user Kloon Tan. His post has so far garnered more than 48,000 views, 400 comments and 950 shares.

It was later shared on popular Johor Baru-based traffic, crime and community Facebook page, JB Tracer.

From the video, the horse, complete with a saddle, was seen making its way towards Jalan Permas Utara near the under bridge interchange and Jusco Permas Jaya.

Traffic on both sides of the inner road was congested as the equine made its way along the road shoulder to oncoming traffic.

It was learnt that the runaway horse was from the nearby Horse Valley Riding Academy in Masai.

In Tan’s Facebook comments two individuals known as Marzulaiman Mohamed II and Zahari Senin Zahari apologised to the public for the nuisance that the runaway horse briefly caused.

They said the horse has since been caught and is in healthy condition.
