Ryan Thomas has shared his delight after his baby son and 11-year-old daughter were finally able to meet in person.

The former Coronation Street actor and his fiancée, ex The Only Way Is Essex star Lucy Mecklenburgh, welcomed baby Roman in March, but due to coronavirus restrictions his daughter Scarlett had been unable to visit.

Roman and Scarlett did “meet” over FaceTime, but they have now got together in person for the first time.

Thomas shared a sweet picture online of his daughter holding his son, who is wearing a t-shirt saying “Little brother.”

“Been waiting for this moment, finally got all my family together,” he wrote.

“Roman wore the T-shirt just in case Scarlett forgot who he was.”

Thomas, 35, had Scarlett with his ex Tina O’Brien, who he met when they starred together as on-screen sweethearts Jason Grimshaw and Sarah Platt in Corrie. They split up in 2009.

He began dating Mecklenburgh, 28, in 2017 and they announced their engagement last June.

The couple welcomed son Roman on 12 March.

Soon afterwards, Thomas told his social media fans he was feeling grateful for the technology that meant he could introduce his children to each other.

He wrote on Instagram: “Thank god for technology!

“I’m finding it really tough being away from my family and sad this is how my daughter met her baby brother.

“To any other broken families I feel your pain and it’s killing me being apart from my daughter and family for so long, especially at this special time.”
