Passengers onboard a Ryanair flight were filmed retching and groaning as the aircraft was hit by turbulence during Storm Dennis.

Video captured by a passenger shows travellers gripping onto the seat in front to brace themselves against the lurching plane, while at least one person can be heard repeatedly retching.

The flight was on its way from Oujda, Morocco to Brussels, Belgium over the weekend, when the northern European country was being pummelled by Storm Dennis’s 62mph winds.

Towards the end of the video, some passengers can be heard clapping – perhaps celebrating that conditions have stabilised.

The video ws uploaded to Youtube by Style de Vie Marocain along with the caption: “Ryanair Oujda Brussels crash avoided”.

The Independent has asked Ryanair to comment on the incident.

Closer to home, Storm Dennis caused a ferry trying to dock in Scotland to lurch dramatically from side to side.

The CalMac ferry was videoed during the storm, with footage showing the boat as it was buffeted by high waves and 80mph winds on 14 February.

It was trying to pull into port at Androssan Harbour on the west coast of Scotland.

Crew of the MV Caledonian Isles were praised for their skill in manoeuvring the ship during such extreme conditions.

“All credit to the skill of our masters and one to consider for those pressing CalMac to take more risk,” managing director Robbie Drummond said in a social media post.

“Safety of our passengers and crew is always our top priority.”

William Campbell, a 48-year-old haulage driver and local who filmed the ferry’s bumpy ride, boarded the ferry back to the Isle of Arran later that evening, telling the BBC that his journey was a “wee bit choppy”.

Though he said he was used to bad weather, Mr Campbell described Friday’s storm as “personally the worst I’ve seen it”.
