Rylan Clark-Neal has confirmed that Supermarket Sweep will be back for a second series.

He will once again be hosting, as three pairs of shoppers are set to go wild in the aisles, collecting their shopping lists, inflatables and bags of pick 'n' mix, which everyone loves.

For series 2, the show has had a big promotion – it will be moving from ITV2 to ITV and will also have a coveted daytime slot when it returns to screens in the autumn – just like when the late Dale Winton hosted the show back in the '90s.

Rylan took to Twitter to announce the news that he would be back filming today (August 1), and also wished his American counterpart, Leslie Jones, well for getting back to filming too following the global lockdowns.

He tweeted: "First day back at #SupermarketSweep tomorrow, lovely to be back in the store. Sending well wishes to @Lesdoggg for Sweep USA . Hope you have as much fun in the aisles as we do! Season 2 let's be having ya!"

When the series was rebooted last year, it was a hit with fans of the original show as it brought back all the best bits viewers loved the most, with only a few complaints, so diehards will be happy with the news.

The host has been very busy elsewhere – well, busy watching the telly with his mum, who has been a massive hit with viewers.

She has cracked everyone up on Celebrity Gogglebox by revealing Rylan's real name and also accusing him of, erm, scratching his privates.

But as funny as they are together, it's sadly very unlikely that they'll get their own show.

"We've been offered hundreds of things," he said. "We got asked to do a travel show and the chance to go here and go there. It would be hilarious, but she's just not well enough to do it."

Supermarket Sweep will air on ITV later this year.
