Two more temporary detention centres to be built in Sabah

KUALA LUMPUR: Two more temporary detention centres will be built in Lahad Datu and Tawau in order to curb the rising number of illegal immigrants in the country. Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the two additional centres will accommodate another 3,000 illegal immigrants. The detention centres, costing RM50 million are expected to be ready in 18 months.
