KOTA KINABALU: A seminar on Sabah state rights will be held on May 24 here, to provide better insights to the public on the issue.
The one-day programme called 'Justice and Rights- The Way Forward', is jointly held for the second time by Sabah Council of Justices of Peace (Majaps) and Sabah Law Association.
The council deputy president Datuk Lawrence Thien said Asia Institute Tasmania director Professor Dr James Chin Ung Ho will present a topic on the matter.
“The state rights has become a current public interest and thus will attract people to attend the programme.
“Another two papers that will be presented are on the roles and functions of Justices of Peace, and on the compatibility of native court with the jurisdiction of the civil and criminal courts,” he said.
Registration fee for early bird is RM200 before May 10. The normal fee is RM250.
The closing date, he said is May 24 with maximum seats of 400.
