Mane helped the Merseyside outfit to six trophies during his stay, including one Premier League title and one Champions League crown.

The 30-year-old was in the final year of his contract and expressed his desire to leave, which prompted the Premier League club to sign Benfica striker Darwin Nunez for a potential club-record fee of £85million.

Bayern Munich already had two bids rejected for the Senegal international, as Liverpool knocked back unrealistic add-ons in the deal.

Nevertheless, the Bavarians got the transfer done on the third time of asking, and are set to pay £27.5million up front before sending a further £5million once Mane has met specified appearance clauses. Another £2.6million will be paid should the forward meet specified individual and team goals.

Bayern were desperate to reinforce their attacking options as uncertainty continues to surround the future of star striker Robert Lewandowski.

The Polish international revealed his journey with Bayern is over, despite having one more year left on his contract with the Bundesliga champions.

Mane leaves Liverpool after scoring 120 goals in 269 appearances. During his six-year spell, the forward helped the club end their 30-year wait for a league title and also featured in three Champions League finals.

Last season, Mane scored his 100th Premier League goal, making him the second highest-scoring African player in the competition's history after teammate Mohamed Salah.

Mane's departure also marks the end of Liverpool's infamous front-three which included Salah and Roberto Firmino. The trio established themselves as one of the deadliest attacking forces in world football as Jurgen Klopp's men swooped six trophies in as many years.

The Reds will be forced to evolve their attacking line-up, with Nunez, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota all offering fresh options for the Liverpool manager.
