Sage Northcutt made his ONE Championship debut on Friday in Singapore, though it didn’t go how he expected.

Northcutt was knocked out in less than 30 seconds by Cosmo Alexandre, taking a brutal shot to the face that sent him straight to the floor.

While the 23-year-old was alert after the match, and congratulated Alexandre on his win inside the ring, it turns out he took more damage to his face than initially thought.

Northcutt underwent a nine-hour surgery on Saturday to fix eight fractures in his face, and shared an update from his hospital bed on Instagram that included a detailed X-ray of his skull.

“Feeling blessed for the amazing care and all the support from ONE Championship, my family, friends and fans!” Northcutt wrote, in part. “My Terminator face is not too Shabby.”

The loss on Friday gave Northcutt, who had won three straight, an 11-3 overall record. He did not provide a timetable for his return, though is clearly still in good spirits based off his Instagram post.
