Sakinaka rape-murder case: Accused confessed crime, says Mumbai CP

Mumbai, Sep 13 (ANI): While briefing the media on brutal Sakinaka rape-murder case, Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale on September 13 said that the accused has confessed the crime and the murder weapon has been recovered. “Sakinaka police have added sections of SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, as victim belonged to a particular caste. The accused has been arrested and he has confessed the crime. Police also recovered the murder weapon that the accused had used. The primary cause of death is injuries all over her body,” said Mumbai Police Commissioner. “As per confession, accused and victim knew each other. Victim was demanding something from accused. They later argued. We are anticipating, the main reason he attacked her, was a bit of argument that they had. He was under the influence of some substances,” he added.
