The King’s Trust Gala, held on Thursday, May 2nd, at the prestigious Casa Cipriani in New York City, was a glittering affair hosted by The King’s Trust Global Ambassadors, the legendary Lionel Richie and esteemed Edward Enninful OBE. The event aimed to raise funds in support of the global youth charity established by King Charles in 1976, which has recently expanded its reach to the United States.

In 2023, The King’s Trust launched its first programs in New York, Detroit, and Chicago, introducing the Enterprise Challenge – an innovative schools-based competition designed to foster entrepreneurial spirit and business knowledge among youth aged 11 to 16. This initiative reflects the Trust’s commitment to empowering young minds and nurturing their potential as future leaders and innovators.

As Sam Smith graced the red carpet, their all-black ensemble exuded a sense of confidence and individuality, perfectly complementing the event’s prestigious atmosphere. Their presence not only added a touch of star power to the evening but also served as a testament to the fashion scene that black never goes out of style.

Over the years, Smith’s shoe style has gone through a noticeable transformation; from sneakers to loafers to dress shoes, they’ve worn it all, but in recent years, chunky boots seem to be a closet favorite. In fact, they wore an inflated latex jumpsuit and platform boots to The BRIT Awards 2023 at The O2 Arena on February 2023 in London. Can’t also forget the head-to-toe black custom Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood ensemble and sky-high boots at the Fashion Awards in December 2023, also in London.

Platform boots offer men a bold, fashion-forward footwear option that combines style and functionality. Beyond the visual impact, the thick platform provides extra cushioning and shock absorption, making platform boots exceptionally comfortable for all-day wear. Plus, they have a confident, edgy vibe that allows anyone to make a statement with their footwear choice. Some beloved brands are French shoe company Both, or Lug-Soled Boots inspired by South Korean boy band BTS.
