Sara Davies has shared how her Dragon's Den co-star Deborah Meaden is getting to relive the Strictly journey through her success.

Davies has talked previously about taking a role in the business investment show with hopes that she could one day do Strictly Come Dancing and being impressed by Meaden's time as a contestant in 2013.

But now that she has stayed in the BBC One competition for longer than Meaden, she said that they had been enjoying another chance at the ballroom together.

Davies told Yahoo UK: "The only person (from Strictly) I knew well to chat to before I did the show was Deborah Meaden and she was gutted because she went out quite early and only did two or three dances.

"I feel like she's been able to chat with me throughout my experiences and relive it a bit. Every week she's texting me and seeing how it's going so I've really enjoyed that."

The entrepreneur, who dances with Aljaz Skorjanec, added that she had enjoyed making a new group of friends who understood what life in the Strictly bubble was like.

She said: "Strictly alumni have a completely different conversation because they know the emotional rollercoaster."

Adding that she had got to know former contestants Kate Garraway and Alison Hammond since starting on the show, she said: "I would say I've made a few friends along the way of people who've been there and done that."

Davies, who has not yet been in a dance off, talked about the stress of waiting to see whether her light would turn red in the Sunday night results show.

She said: "Every time we do that results show and you're standing there waiting for that light. I'm so thankful I've never felt that light on me go red yet.

"I know how stressful it feels waiting for it, so I can't imagine what it's going to feel like when it actually happens and goes red."

Strictly Come Dancing continues on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One.
