Sarah Ferguson shared a moving tribute to her eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, on what should have been her wedding day on Friday (29 May).

The princess and her fiancé, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, like so many other couples, have had to postpone their nuptials due to the coronavirus crisis and lockdown.

On what may be a difficult day, the young bride-to-be's mother shared some words of praise, love and advice on Instagram, addressing not just her daughter but everyone whose special day has been disrupted during this crisis.

The Duchess of York wrote in the caption: "Love you my darling Beatrice. You have given me more joy than I could ever wish for. I am so excited to celebrate yours and Edo’s love when we all are out of lockdown.

"The most important thing is health and love, and today I send it to you and all the other people that were getting married during this time... So proud of you all."

Accompanying her heartfelt words was an adorable picture of Beatrice as a child in a formal green velvet puff sleeved party dress, her face framed by a thick fringe and super cute blonde bob.

We're sure when wedding eventually takes place, it will be a wonderful day, and we wish the happy couple all the best.
