As a city dweller, there are a few things that make condo life a challenge, especially given the current state of social distancing. For me, one of the biggest difficulties is embracing the great outdoors, especially when there’s no yard or balcony to speak of.

If, like me, you’re craving a little bit of greenery in your life, you can always go the houseplant route. Sure, the thought of nurturing plants and watching them grow can be satisfying for many, but if you need a little extra motivation then you may want to go the route of growing things you can eat.

Thanks to innovations that make it possible for plants to flourish anywhere, it’s now easier than ever to grow your own food - garden or no garden. The AeroGarden Harvest 360 is one such innovative item, and it could be just the thing to brighten up your space this season.

What is it?

The Harvest 360 is a space-saving tabletop growing kit that brings the outside in. Each grow kit comes with everything you’ll need to plant your own indoor garden, including seed pods in one of four themed options: gourmet herbs, salad greens, cherry tomatoes, or petunias.

It’s a hydroponic planter that uses LED light, resulting in growth that’s five times faster than seeds planted in soil, meaning you can enjoy your harvest sooner.

Since it uses LED light bulbs, there’s no need to worry about whether your plants are getting the correct amount of sunlight. Automatic settings turn the lights on and off, and let you know when water levels and nutrient levels are low to take the guesswork out of gardening.

Normally retailing for $212 ($150 USD), it’s currently on sale for $140 ($100 USD), making it more affordable than ever to break out your green thumb.

What people are saying

With a quick setup time and virtually no work involved, shoppers are loving that the Harvest 360 is an easy way to grow your own fresh herbs at home.

“I have always had the opposite of a green thumb and really didn't think this was going to work, but AeroGarden changed all that,” raved one reviewer. “Easy to set up; within 15 minutes my garden was planted. Within 3 weeks, I had beautiful herbs.”

“This is the easiest harvest kit I have ever owned and I feel like a gourmet chef cooking with my own mint and thyme leaves,” added another. “Can’t wait to grow my own tomatoes next. Everyone needs this!”

Of the handful of negative reviews, a few dissatisfied customers noted issues with either their lights malfunctioning, or seeds not growing properly. While the light malfunctioning appears to be a rare manufacturing error, luckily AeroGarden has a germination guarantee that replaces faulty seeds at no extra cost.

The verdict

If you’re strapped for outdoor space, this indoor garden could be just the thing to bring some much-needed greenery indoors. Although it is on the pricier side, the ease of operation and quick growing time make the Harvest 360 a great purchase for anyone looking to try their hand at growing herbs and veggies indoors.
