‘Saving money' tops parents' back-to-school list

A Harris Poll survey commissioned by Best Buy found that for 86% of US parents, price is the biggest consideration when shopping for their children's schools supplies.

So much so that 82% for the 1006 parents with children aged between eight and 18 quizzed for the survey said that they always look for deals and coupons to clip before leaving the house to purchase back-to-school items.

The overwhelming majority of parents (81%) feel that it's crucial that their children start school with everything they need so that they feel organised.

This is a factor in why 53% of parents aim to have completed all back-to-school shopping a month before the new term starts.

Yet, despite the convenience of online retail, when asked how they shop, 78% said they buy only or mostly in physical stores.
